Dr. Suresh Prasad, MD, FACP stands as a beacon of excellence in healthcare, boasting over 25 years of unwavering dedication to serving the Permian Basin community. Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Prasad’s commitment to patient care and medical advancement has garnered him widespread recognition and numerous accolades.

Hailing from India, Dr. Prasad earned his medical degree from Patna Medical College and Hospital, where he distinguished himself by receiving the prestigious “Shifton Gold Medal” for his outstanding performance in General Medicine. His pursuit of excellence led him to the United States, where he completed his internship at the Edgewater Medical Center Residency Program in Chicago, IL, and his residency in Internal Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Odessa, TX.

In 1999, Dr. Prasad began his practice in Internal Medicine in Monahans, TX, before establishing his own esteemed practice, Permian Internal Medicine Associates, in 2004 in Odessa. As the Medical Director, he maintains a steadfast commitment to patient care, holding ABIM Board certifications in Internal Medicine, Sleep Medicine, and ABOM Board Certification in Obesity Medicine. Dr. Prasad’s expertise extends to various specialties, including diabetes management, hypertension, and echocardiography.

Dedicated to medical education, Dr. Prasad serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor for the Department of Internal Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Science Center, where he mentors and educates medical residents, students, physician assistant students, and nurse practitioner students. He also serves as a partner at Odessa Sleep Associated, the sole sleep lab in Odessa, further demonstrating his dedication to advancing patient care.

Dr. Prasad’s commitment to excellence in patient care has been consistently recognized through prestigious awards such as the Odessa American choice for 2020,2021, 2022, 2023 recognition in various specialties, as well as the On-Time Doctor Award, Compassionate Doctor Recognition, and Patients’ Choice Award from Vitals. In 2010, he received the TTUHSC School of Medicine “Distinguished Alumni Award for Community Outreach.”

His significant contributions to the medical field have been honored with notable distinctions, including the Fellowship by the American College of Physicians (FACP) in 2010 and prestigious Community Statesman Heritage Foundation Award in Health and Science in 2012.

Dr. Prasad is a distinguished member of several prestigious medical organizations, including the American College of Physicians (ACP), Texas Medical Association (TMA), Ector County Medical Society (ECMS), American Society of Sleep Medicine (ASSM), American Diabetes Association (ADA), American Society of Hypertension (ASH), American Society of Bariatric Physicians (ASBP), and the Obesity Society (TOS).

Consistently recognized as the BEST physician in the Weight Loss and Sleep categories, as well as One of the Best physicians overall, by the Reader’s Choice survey conducted by Odessa American in the Permian Basin, Dr. Prasad’s dedication to excellence and innovation in healthcare solidifies his reputation as one of the region’s foremost physicians.

In his personal life, Dr. Prasad finds joy in his family, including his wife of three decades, Dr. Kalpana Prasad, two children, and a granddaughter. His interests in traveling and reading reflect his vibrant personality, while his commitment to volunteering highlights his desire to give back to his community. Dr. Prasad’s legacy of trust, compassion, and excellence continues to inspire and uplift all those he encounters.

Dr. Kalpana Prasad, MD, FACP affectionately known as Dr. K by her patients, has been a pillar of compassionate care and medical expertise in the Permian Basin for almost 25 years.

Her journey into medicine began in India, where she discovered her passion for healing at Patna Medical College and Hospital. After completing her Internal Medicine Residency Program at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Odessa, TX, she brought her skills and dedication to Monahans, TX in 2002, joining Permian Internal Medicine Associates in 2005.

Aside from her clinical practice, Dr. Prasad co-founded the Permian Research Foundation, demonstrating her commitment to advancing medical knowledge and innovation. Her pursuit of excellence is evident in her ABIM Board certifications and recertifications in Internal Medicine, as well as her Fellowship with the American College of Physicians and her receipt of the prestigious Community Statesman “Heritage Foundation Award” in 2023.

As a Clinical Assistant Professor at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Dr. Prasad shares her knowledge and experience with future healthcare professionals, shaping the next generation of medical leaders.

Dr. Prasad’s dedication to patient-centered care has earned her numerous awards, including the Patients’ Choice Award and the Compassionate Doctor Recognition. Her expertise in managing complex conditions has been acknowledged through the Odessa American choice for 2020,2021, 2022, 2023 program.

Dr.Grace Andrade

Grace was born and raised in Odessa, TX. She moved to Temple, Texas after high school and received her Certificate of Surgical Technology from Temple College. At Temple College she was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. She was elected president of the Surgical Technology club and was the elected graduation speaker. She completed her surgical training at Baylor Scott and White hospital. She returned home to work at Medical Center Hospital for 11 years in the main operating room. She assisted on elective and trauma surgeries. At the same time, she was active in the community and participated in Relay for Life, March of Dimes, Toys for Tots and the Women’s Crisis Center of Odessa. She also was a member of the Mercy Trips Healthcare Outreach Medical Team and traveled to Uganda, Africa twice to assist on pro bono surgeries. While working and taking trauma call at MCH, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. At UTPB she was elected to the Student Senate and she was placed on the dean’s list for her academic achievements. With a desire to have more of a greater impact in providing patient care she applied and was accepted into the Texas Tech Physician Assistant program. She graduated with a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. In the PA program her and her classmates campaigned for AIDS, autism and breast cancer awareness. She is certified by the NCCPA and licensed by the Texas Medical Board. Grace and her husband Luis Andrade, along with their daughters Laurel & Isabella are members of the church of Christ. Grace is driven by the bonds she builds with patients over the course of their lives and the enjoyment she holds in keeping them healthy and well.

Roxana Nieto, MPAS, PA-C was born and raised in Midland, TX. She attended Lee High School where she was a part of the Dixie Doll Drill Team. She also volunteered at Medical Center Hospital for several years learning multiple aspects of the medical field and further solidifying her interest in health care. She attended the University of Texas at San Antonio where she graduated Cum Laudewith a Bachelors of Science in Public Health and a minor in Sociology. As a student she interned at the Institute for Health Disparities conducting Hep C and HIV testing as well as educating students on the prevention of risky behavior. Additionally, she was a member of Phi Sigma Pi Honors Fraternity and held multiple officer positions. After graduating she joined the prevention team at the Crisis Center of West Texas where she brought awareness to domestic violence and sexual assault. Miss Nieto also volunteered at various local entities including SHARE and Children’s Rehab.It has been Roxana’s lifelong goal to serve the community as a health care professional therefore she pursued her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies at the Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Midland, TX. While pursuing her career she was elected student liaison for the Permian Basin Physician Assistant Society. She graduated with her Masters degree in August 2020. She is very excited to bring quality care to the people of the Permian Basin. On her leisure time she enjoys working out, baking, and spending time with her dog Sully.

After graduating from Lee High School in her hometown, Marlene attended Midland College where she was a member and treasurer of the Students in Philanthropy organization. During her free time, she worked at a local gym as a personal trainer after receiving her certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. After graduating with an associate degree from MC she transferred to Texas Tech University. During her journey as a student in Lubbock, TX, she volunteered through Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society and the Hispanic Honor Society. She also made time to work and help as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) at Carillon Senior Living. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Cum Laude, Marlene decided to move back to Midland to be with her family. As she prepared for the process of applying and interviewing for graduate school, she continued gaining clinical experience as a CNA at a gynecology clinic.

She graduated with her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Midland in August 2020 and accepted a position where she earned experience in women’s health and primary care. Having a passion for primary care and a high interest in internal medicine, Marlene is excited to be serving patients of west Texas by being a part of the healthcare team and family at Permian Internal Medicine Associates. Outside of work she enjoys working out, hiking and spending time with her family.
